Spending 2k+ on tools to rob $100

After killing myself again by mistake, i have started again twice and both times someone has come in with $2k+ worth of tools only to steal $100... Why bother?

Also their name never came up on house list whilst they were in my house....

They could be bored or practicing unless they died in your house.  Did they die in your house?

@Passive, when a new player starts, their name doesn't appear on the house list for 5 minutes (someone correct me if the time is wrong).  That's why they could scout your house but you couldn't see theirs.

Re: Spending 2k+ on tools to rob $100

Often I'm too lazy to scout before bringing tools. And if I'm going to bring tools, I might as well bring $2000 worth, to maximise your profit if you manage to kill me.

But it wasn't me. I would instead suicide in a house without any cash.

Now you mention it I think I did read it somewhere.

My guess is bored as at the time only about 7houses on thw list. Just a bit frustratimg as I really wanna test my house out. But everytime I get about 20k in the build I kill my self in some stupid manner. But I guess that is what makes this such a punishing game smile

Also in he server settings thread it says about a 24 hour force ignore. Some of the other information is wrong so I would guess this is no longer the case either?

Are you talking about chills? After you die in a house you can no longer enter it until the chill is over. It used to last 24 hours, but was changed a month ago to 2 hours.

Force ignore. It says if you rob someones house and they then die and respawn thier house is force ignored for 24 hours. Guess so you cant keeping robbing same person as they staart. Howevee I dont think it is active anymore.

This is different to chills in that the house doesn't appear on the list at all.

Re: Spending 2k+ on tools to rob $100

Finally robbed a house that was actually worth some $$. Grabbed $8k5 with 2k tools. Not very impressive in the grand scheme of things, but first time i have landed a house worth more then 2~4k. But now that i have the money and the house don't wanna try another one big_smile

Congrats!  Now don't blow it in a self-test tongue

grats thats a major win!  now spend wisely!  and use orange lights for electric floors and chihuahua's for pitbulls, blue lights for doors/floors, etc and dont die in a self test!   I think the last sentence is the only reason I've been able to keep a house over a month lately

Re: Spending 2k+ on tools to rob $100

here's something i've learned the hard way...

during the tests you can replace everything with non lethal stuff, but you have no way to both do this and simulate a pet death, and that can lead to disaster.

if in the lethal version something has to die, keep in mind that it will not, during the non lethal test.
