House just got hacked

No new info here, but I'm planning on fixing this issue in Terminal Heist. I am also planning on trying to detect when someone is trying to macro their house off the list....it may be as simple as making them answer a captcha type question (probably not a captcha, cause i hate those, but maybe a simple math question) every 15-30 minutes that they are editing also I am hoping to end disconnect scouting by having the clients send their moves up the server as they happen. I think we also have a good strategy to make it very hard for people to grab the whole maps through the client, but I think we can make it hard enough that they'd be better off trying to hack a bank or something with their time.

one way to do it, although cpu and network intensive, would be to have the client send the move and only then does the server send back the revealed tiles, although pretty intense it's less than an FPS probably generates in traffic and cpu.

no problem man i just didnt want people think i was a cheat. i had no paintings either im sure you noticed... another guy said went in and took all his i was like wtf lol.

Thoth, that was my thinking originally. Have you seen this?

But now my thinking is lock it down another way and maybe save the server side for real money realms or tournaments.

Getting pretty annoyed again. This is part of my house:

6 choices, 5 death 1 life. Yet so far people keep just picking the life every time. I then changed which door was life and again first robber went straight to the right door. Am i missing something? Is it really obvious which is the right door?

@cullman no I have not, but I have now, that is pretty sweet.

@Passive 1 in 5 is no big deal, it was the one where he got my 1 in 524,288 that I was certain it was a hacker (there was an 8 bit lock and an 11-bit combo lock that he danced through with no tools)

Carefully check what is visible on the tapes. There may be a tipper. Can't tell from the image given.

Yea i tried that, but they all have the same thing on the tile behind the door so really dunno what could be givign it way :S

I haven't been in this house, but for me to guess, from the top I'd say the safe path is not the first, or last. Unlikely to be the 5th or 2nd. Most likely to be the fourth. Of course, this all depends on the location of this corridor in your house: if it's in the lower section, door 5 becomes more likely, for example.

Having said all this, it is still a 1 in 6 gamble that I wouldn't risk my house on without tools, unlike Mr Allen R Crist, who waltzed through my house for just 3.5k on his first ever visit straight after another visitor died after spying the safe *cough-two-account-abuser-cough*

I think at the time of this screen shot it was door 2. But it has also been door 1, 3, 4, ,5 Door 5 seems to be the "easiest" to "guess" as people see the fire floor round a corner and just pick the last door they went past

One thing that is odd is that to get to that bit there is two commits with powered doors, last 10 visitors no one has even thought of going through the one that doesn't lead to this corridor :S

So yet again i had someone just walked straight through the right door which is starting to make it seem pointless to even have all the traps as no one has died to them. That guy then gets to safe hangs themselves and next video is A R Crist walking straight in to get the loot. Clearly using 2nd account, really lame.

Allen R Crist just robbed me again. He doesn't know the solution, but knew the exact tools to bring that the previous failant couldn't (more than 2k worth). New route, he'd never been in before, but he knew where the safe was and how to get to it.
Once, suspicious.
Twice, a likely cheat.
Three times, confirmed.

Wish it was easier to share replays, as you just poked you nose in my new house, and with visibility on it looks very funny. You looking at the commit trap i copied from you, all the time with the safe behind the door just beyond it (I have since robbed some $$ so it is a lot more impressive now )
