If the game seems interesting to you, then it is well worth it. It's incredibly rewarding to see people permadeath themselves to your own designed trap, or reach the vault of one of the top houses. I'd recommend watching some youtube videos of it first to see if it looks good to you.
One word of warning is that starting out will involve a lot of death, and there is a steep learning curve. Don't launch the game and go into an hour long building project (a lot of people mistakenly do this), because you will die and it will all be gone. Experiment, and don't take starting over too seriously at first. Also you might not enjoy the game if you easily rage quit or get bored.
As a side note, the community is pretty big for an indie game, but you'll find it hard to get an answer within 60 seconds of posting, and there's no need to keep bumping when you're at the top of the thread list.

i think if you only have $16 you might consider something other than a vidya game. i have been there and trying to eat, ride the bus and everything with no money is a real pain.
however i did learn that people seem to always drop coins where the bus stops.. so always check the ground. lost count of how many free rides i have had from found change.

I recommend checking out the Lets Play series here by Aavak. He's good about explaining how the game works and being pretty entertaining too. If watching him play intrigues you, then I'd recommend picking it up! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=br_hGLQk … jl&index=1

Just be careful if you do get the game, because those videos are of old versions, so things like metal walls conducting are out of date. They should still give you a good idea of what to expect, though

I put a link to his new series of videos. If you start with the one that I just linked, that's the first one since the changes, and the most recent video was uploaded today. Good point though, his older videos are outdated.

Ok, didn't realize he had started again.

If you want to look at the old videos make sure you read the top part of the FAQ about what has changed in the game. It should hopefully clear things up.
