I couldn't find a contact button anywhere so I'm just posting here. I bought the game on Steam and i love it. I noticed on your website that if you buy it there you get it DRM free and on steam. Is it possible that even though i got it on steam, i could get the DRM free version?
It's a trap!

The game is open source, what you've paid for is a lifetime subscription to Jason's server. I'm sure there's a download link to be found out there somewhere and as it is open source, quite legal to find and use.

Goto this file:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\CastleDoctrine\settings\downloadCode.ini
open in notepad.
You will find something that resemble a CD code.
Pin it at the end of the URL:
http://thecastledoctrine.net/ts/server. … ticket_id=
so it looks like this:
http://thecastledoctrine.net/ts/server. … XXXX-XXXXX
(But with the X's replaced with your download code)
Now you can download the DRM free variant and sources.
If you want to play "off-steam", then:
your username can be find in:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\CastleDoctrine\settings\email.ini
Your download code or password, is same as the "CD key" you found in the downloadCode.ini file in the steam folder.

A much simpler way is to go to the Castle Doctrine store page on steam. Scroll to the bottom of the description, and there'll be a link to download the source code. You'll have to sign in through steam, but that just is to automatically get all the info that sebastian explained how to get. After it logs you in, press the link, and you'll be taken to the downloads for various OS's (and the source code).

I keep dying of a natural cause - Stupidity
The biggest thing that Castle Doctrine has taught me is that the price of your house is proportional to the stupidity of the mistake that kills you.
