I was in the same boat. I read the Wiki (linked from the game main page) and learned a LOT about how the tools and home improvements work which saved a lot of deaths.
I'll club some guy's wife to death for an $8.00 profit if I am able...
That's my guess too. He was a scout for an account with more money in it.
They may be trying to disable a family dependent house design. If the wife and kids are dead, there is no one to carry the shotgun or press the Panic Button.
Twice so far I have had people carrying tools come into my home for the first time ever and hang themselves without taking a single step.
Why? They have never seen the house set up ever before. Was what they saw just as they walked in the door that they were so distraught that even taking one step backwards out was too much for them? They had to actually click the checkbox and THEN the Suicide button.
It is all so very strange. And it REALLY gives the Welcome Mat an ironic feeling. ![]()
"that seems like more resources than I'm willing to put into having my kids killed."
It is quotes like this one that make me love this game.
Wow. Is there any way to advance the percentage? ![]()
Does this log also show the steps taken and end result? Because this log has both the correct dog placement map AND the incorrect one. And I only died on the very last run after I removed the escape route. My test was successful when I had the escape route but failed when I took it out. The position of the dog did not change.
The switch ALWAYS must be in between the power source and the grid in order to work correctly!
That hardly seems fair. I tested this all last night and used screenshots as well. I still have them! Why would it change? And yes I am POSITIVE that I walked correctly. I always count the steps and it was off by one on the test that had an escape route. I adjusted the dog based on that and retested! Then and only then did I close off the escape route and now it fails! Is there no way to take a look at the game logs and show this is a real issue?
I have a fairly complex and expensive house that has been tested many many times. I had a dog placed in a very specific spot and it worked...literally about 50 tests. Then house was robbed and the dog killed. So I replaced the dog with a Chihuahua to confirm. It was one spot off...so I moved it and then retested with a missing wall for an escape route and it worked. So then I am ready to finalize and I block off. Now the real test...and the dog placement failed! I am trapped inside and unable to get to the vault...the dog is part of the scheme. Has this been seen before? The only thing different is that the dog was facing toward me in the original placement but sideways in the new one. Does that affect visibility? If so HOW can you rotate the dog when you put it down??? I am out a huge amount of effort and cash if I can't fix this. ![]()
Yeah I've tried that too. Maybe this just isn't the game for me. I dumped all my money into backpack equip only have it lost every single time. I think I did one successful robbery at a monetary loss because I didn't know the wife carried half the listed loot.
I can't quit (it says "You'll die") and I can't get back in game (Server error message).
How about some designs for those of us that don't have $100,000? I seem to be a complete failure in making houses for the starting money that can defend anything. I have lost count of the number of interesting designs I have tried and have seen robbed in a trivial manner. ESPECIALLY since you have basically zero money for tools after building. ![]()
