I'm pretty sure I left the Semple house safe again as I shot and clubbed my way through the pitbulls.
As the flower blooms,
so does my house develop,
with the aid of death.
I hate to be a smart-ass, but I am one. A haiku has two more (in fact even more important than the syllables) elements: a juxtaposition of two images or ideas and a seasonal reference. Also the Japanese on is not exactly the same as a syllable, but that's not important, if you don't write in Japanese.
I can see the juxtaposition of two ideas in your haikus, but I really miss the seasonal reference
I go robbing now,
keep the children safe my dogs,
my winter is near.

Editing my place
Will be back after self-test
One wrong step, now dead
I go robbing now,
keep the children safe my dogs,
I might not return.
Unfold your creativity people!
I agree it is a good poem, and for the longest time I assumed it was a haiku because it said that, but then I counted the syllables XD
A haiku has 5 syllables, then 7, then 5.
I go robbing now,
keep the children safe my dogs,
I might not return.
mala your signature poem does not adhere to haiku rules.
What I meant, mala, is that the tools they brought wouldn't get them past my first trap. They could still luck their way past it of course and your advice is good in general and will be kept in mind!
As title says guys... I'm scared now! Judging by the tools they decided to bring they did not get very far though... But still!
I actually finished three selftests today, but I am going to limit myself to when I change something and not just structure reinforcements.
So there are all the 'Oh crap I died in selftest' threads, but I think we should also celebrate the selftests that we survive! So this is where we do that.
I'll start it off:
WOOT I just survived selftest guys! YEAH!
I haven't been following the whole thread and whatnot so this might be completely unneeded, in which case please bear with me and just disregard. But the most expensive tool solution for a hallway of powered pits would look something like this, I believe. http://castledraft.com/editor/5wUcph
For a while I would play it between checking kill-list and checking for empty 2k houses. But the novelty wore off.
Hope your character didn't have too much investment.
How much is too much investment? I had a house headed for the halls of fame, I am pretty sure. No-one had gotten past the first trap and the rest of the house was developing nicely. But putting too much thought in what was lost in this game leads down a dark path.
I might be interested to put voice to something, as long as it takes minimal effort from my side
The tuna song, hit of the future, voice of a generation, can be sampled right here.
So it was more a case of people being stupid because of a painting rather than any double account exploit
I died recently in there with a life that was a few days old, so might have been the 6k or 2k bounty. Came in without tools, knowing the house was broken, mistakingly thinking it was also safe just to die on an electric floor right after the cat/dog transfer entrance.
As soon as I saw this I searched for Sullivan, but it's only at 2900 at the moment and I believe the wife holds 2700?
A few days ago I did my starting 2k robbery on a house that had a single painting and around 4.5k for me to build for. I was then robbed by a 2k robber who was then right after (I can only speculate on this) robbed by someone else, because the painting showed up in that third parties house. Don't know if it was a dual account thing or what it was, but my value was too low for the 2k robber to be interested in anything but the painting. Which seems a weird way to start a new life.

To be honest, this board we be a much better place without you.
Quoted for truth.
Giving new players an in-game advantage for a short period, is exactly the same as having a sale, which Jason is against. Or even giving all players it for a short period. Jason has stated he wants people to buy the game only if they actually want to play the game. Luring people into buying it doesn't really facilitate that. What could be done is more exposure. Advertisement. Word of mouth is good in this internet age and all, but it's just not the same as active advertisement.
I rob 0$ houses all the time. I always die in random houses or to selftest, so this isn't a bounty dumping technique or anything, but once I do die in a house I always check how much I upped its worth by.
I onestep visit 0/0 houses, it gives me some kind of perverted pleasure to know that the owner won't know that his house isn't at 0/0 but everyone else can see that it's 1/0.
I probably have others but those are the two that made me think to make this post. You guys got any weird ingame habits?
I think 200 is fine, anyone using their from-home clubs to kill family members are likely to be gathering a bounty that will be randomly deposited and not used to inflate a second account. And even if it isn't it cuts the potential profit from the behavior to a fifth of what it was before.
Jason while you are making these non-update changes, could you make a sticky post or something that always has the current bounty values and other variables in it?
colorfusion wrote:...With 100 people, you'd have to be pretty lucky to not have someone get through your house. A 6 bit combo lock has 64 possibilities, and up to 6 combinations (assuming no tools) can be tested before you've pressed all the buttons.
...At this point I stopped reading- A 6 switch combination has how many tries!? Come on ask your teacher, come back and write the answer. Then I will read the rest.
uncastlebar you have to remember that these are binary locks, not decimal locks. 6 buttons, especially if they are not sticky and have no commit before them (meaning you can leave, come back and try again) is not that hard to crack. I empathize with your situations and multiaccounts (while not having anything to do with this in particular) sucks the big D, but it sounds like someone got lucky cracking your place. You even said yourself they used some tools (meats and saws) meaning they didn't just guess the correct solution. I've had people just guess my correct solution before and your first thought is "OMFG THE CHEATER!!" but once you calm down a bit you will see that if 100 people died in your house and 1 guessed the right combinations and paths to take (even with the help of some tools!) it's really not that unusual, statistically speaking.
Edit: cullman and crazyace, can you two like make a dedicated thread for shittalking each other and then keep it out of the rest of the forum or something? Thanks.
Some of the 'feuds' around here are humorous and gentlemanly and entertaining to follow, but you two are just vicious!
