why it doesn't work?

hi, i'm trying to make a simple circuit that cut itself out of power if activated

http://castledraft.com/editor/ExAiYa

the first button will transmit power to the sticky button, when you step on it it should cut itself out from the power source.

pressing the sticky button actually turns off the light but if you step on the first button again the light turns on again....

shouldn't the first button be unpowered by that time? how does it recive current if it's disconnected?

Re: why it doesn't work?

If you step on both buttons, then power is passed to the inverted gate and it turns off. However, if you step on the toggle switch again, then the power is no longer going into the gate and the light turns on again.

It's a trap!

Re: why it doesn't work?

Voltage triggered switches don't permanently turn off. It will stop letting power through, but then that stops feeding power up to itself and thus it can let power through again. It keeps going in a loop, you should have a look at the wiki's guides on substeps to understand it better.

Make it so the power to turn off the VTIS doesn't come from the VTIS.

Just make sure the power to the switch isn't coming from itself

That should do what you want

with Colorfusion solution the problem seems to be the same.
Iceman's one did the trick, but since it's for a magic dance i need it to be "two buttons" so it can be deactivated.

i've found a way around the problem,

if you go straight to the button the chihuahua gets stuck and you have no way but bruteforce, same if you cut the wall to learn/complete the magic dance yourself.

Re: why it doesn't work?

Colorfusion's version *will* work - the difference between your version and his version is that in yours the power to the voltage triggered inverted switch was getting cut off *by* the switch, while in his the power is coming *directly* from the power source.

Here's what will happen when you press the buttons is colorfusion's version:

Top is before any buttons are pressed, middle is when the left button is pressed, bottom is when both switches are pressed.
