I have a second account, but the rule not to visit houses i want to rob with my main. It takes the thrill to die. Today i scouted the second top house. Maybe i will crack it in the next days =p

Edit:

Assuming the robber has scouted you to the point of the trap, powered door as a commit gate, no matter how you put it, requires only a doorstop.  The trap door is far more effective for commit gates because it will always require that you cut/blast around it or use a ladder.

Here is a random idea that may work.  I'm not sure if this is quite right with the clock on/off step but, you can prevent a robber from using a doorstop by making it expensive this way

http://castledraft.com/editor/YN4VZa

If you made the dog harder to kill, the clock would prevent them from using a doorstop unless they use a ladder+water.  If correct, the trapdoor activates as you step on to it.  Power goes off once you step on the electric floor, but the dog would hit the button making the power turn on permanently on the next turn.  This is not much more expensive to bypass than just a trap door, but if you do not invest the ladder before the commit, backtracking is much more expensive, requiring explosives or a crowbar and a ladder.

Nice trap, but way too big.

Most of times then I use powered doors, I intend either a wall with it or want that they bring a doorstep, to get out safe again. Because it is a slot in their inventory.

It was a pet riddle, easy to solve if you tested very often the petmovement.

Thanks for the money wink

I will use it to build myself up again smile

got greedy yesterday evening and died due robbery, after i made this message... i just cried into my bed xD

I will built up the house again. Now I have finally a plan how my whole house shall look.

#7 Re: Main Forum » Christopher N. Cantrell's house » 2014-06-03 13:28:37

Finally I got to that point where I designed the last part of my house. After a while I will be again on top, but I think and hope this huge investement was worth it. I sat 3 hours on designing and testing that final house.

Only one made it past my second area so far and only that cause I had a mistake in my electronics.

But don't worry, that house is flexible enough too change if needed =P

P.S.: I edited the topic of this old thread so you can see my actual name

just to show, it is far obvious that they will die if they jump in.

I know a santarunner if i see him big_smile maybe i will come up with some replays at the evening

Since the last week I get visitors, who go into my house and fail to my "intial trap" in build. This trap I had functional in the house before and some got past it(It is not difficult). But now they do the dance you need to do(Like before) only to land in a nonpowered pit, cause i don't activated that trap and it is clearly visible, there is NO chance to survive.

Rotten food as dead pet test object. My 1# reason for a death are pets or dead things i didn't calculated in or just couldn't test it right.

This would be a object, that would disappear after selftest(it rot away) so you can't use it for housebuilding.

No seriously I demand it to survive and I will not eat it!

#12 Re: Main Forum » Safest neighbourhood I've lived in... » 2014-04-29 01:47:27

Remember that most houses that get 2k robber, are in the 3k-8k section after that, my house get robbers only slowly.

#13 Re: Main Forum » This is where we celebrate a selftest » 2014-04-24 23:29:11

After I died to my new house design a few times(4). I finally follow my rules in how not to die in my own house. I survived.

I would love to have this, not for a fast visibility test, more like, because I want to stream, but don't like the idea to show my first screen on stream. People would just see the same thing as they would enter my house with this option.

Alton didn't changed his house, only repaired it, nice money for me. I must look like a hacker. Thanks for that startmoney smile

#17 Re: Main Forum » The Harris House - House Breakdown » 2014-04-16 02:22:11

Neat House, You could have used the top left corner to safe a dog somewhere for an extra commit at the top. The commit hallway could be more efficient. Like this:

http://castledraft.com/editor/lb3YEv

Now you can use the left top corner for another neat thing and have a better commit. 2 Ladder, an explosive and a water against 8 saws and a water(best case 3 saws and 2 water)

Cylence wrote:

I wonder if they jump in the pit to the left because it might get them better vision of what's around the corner?

Maybe, but it wouldn't really change cause you will see all the electronics in this area 3 steps later in my actual version.

Sadly I died, cause I thought it wouldn't be necessary to validate this little change in my house ... Good thing about it, it improved my blueprint and I discovered a new efficient trap to use.

Maybe you can sent me some thoughts on the first trap.

John James Poland, you made it trough my first Trap. Respect. But that was only the easy part as you saw it wink

That was the reason why I didn't post the actual blueprint, only the idea. I am sorry, but this idea was by far the best I come through a long time. I was like: What the fuck?! That easy? Wait, there is something wrong with this commit!

No big deal.  I knew that one wouldn't last long.  I was gonna drum up enough money to move the vault out of sight.  You think that one is sneaky you should see the one blip brute forced.  He blew right by the tricky parts of my house with brute force, no one I've shown the map to can figure out how to solve even with the map to look at.

I would be honored to see the map. I like puzzles. Sadly most of times I don't have enough money to figure out most houses.

A robber sent us these very unclear blueprints. A fake Commit with a clear visible Vault, easy to bruteforce, but fatal to be taken easy. The power do not come from the button. It comes from the wall. Son timer is set and a wife commit established. *abathur voice*

This was just a really interesting trap, if the vault wouldn't have been in sight, i would have just left cause this wife as a commit is just to strong. But these 2 Powers the dog and the shadow of another dog( Maybe someone knew what i talk about) seems like a very interesting trap. Poor thing that the wife needed to die to research this trap safely.

I only found a good solution of this trap, after i got to the vault(the backupdog died with the wife), but now I know(thanks real blueprints ;P )

Lets just say there are the dual accounts AND the dual account discussion and paranoia. I know my reaction then I think of a dual account attack. Get help of a friend to safe your house(hold the 15 minutes with a timer) or help you scout out the target enemy. Or try to change the house everytime, someone got in.

Being locked out of the house means you can't play the game, no matter what your goal is..
And I think it's pretty serious. I'm sure everyone here will complain if they can't get into their house all day.
It's frustrating and happens whether or not people have multiple accounts or not. Imagine 5 individual people with single accounts all trying to break your house. You'd have to somehow click faster than 4 of them.

I think that is a problem as well.

#24 Re: Main Forum » Tutorial: The Ordered Combination Lock » 2014-04-15 16:25:58

This combolock has a much better Space to Bruteforceratio than usual combolocks. I still think it takes to much space, to be really safe in highlvl houses =/ ( remind this is the really easy version)
