Hello Jason,

I purchased 2 non-Steam versions of this game back in 2014 I believe. I don't see a way to Login and play on the website. So a couple questions on changes:

1) How do you Login without Steam?

2) Does testing your house still kill you?

Thanks,

P.S. - I really look forward to playing again. Lots of nostalgia.

Looks like Costanzo has gone down. Timber!!! He is pennyless now.

(Husband): Honey I am home! What are we having for dinner tonight?

(Wife): We are having drugged meat. I hope you like it.

(kids): Mmmmm our favorite!

So now steaks aren't food?

Steaks are food, but drugged meat is not advisable for human consumption smile

Yes... this gives you the ability to return home if you make it back to the mat or vault. I like it. You live in exchange for your tools. Good safety.

I "try" to keep my wife safe, but try to limit the benefits of someone killing her.  The problem with keeping her though is someone scouts my house, comes back to kill my wife, and while they are there they tear up some walls and throw food everywhere.

Food? I don't remember any food? Are we... smoking something today....?  I had no idea that she kept all that food in the walls. Makes sense, since I can't find where she put the refrigerator. Maybe food can be the next game mechanic? You can throw tomatoes at the dogs to make them skip a turn or maybe chuck an apple at a cat and have a 50% chance of killing it. smile  Hell... its cheaper than bricks and who the hell out there is selling bricks at $150 a piece? Thats crazy! Man I want in on that business!

Its a matter of preference really... I mean you can build a house with a wife in mind and it will work well with the benefit of having a safety wallet. You could also design a house with no wife with the intention of keeping everyone out as much as possible, but with no safety wallet. Eventually a house will break. How much work fix it up after it does is important too.

A plane with wooden wings is much easier to fix and get back up into the air than a plane with metal wings. Ponder on this thought.

Yep, I believe House B would also have the Chills.

Great marketing idea.... post on Youtube and Facebook and I'm sure we will get more victims .... I mean players smile

#13 Re: Main Forum » It's just me or these is less people trying to rob houses? » 2014-03-14 08:42:52

I had ZERO robbery attempts overnight.... the game IS slowing down. We need to bring more players back into the game and attract new players again. Maybe another contest Jason? What do you guys think?

#14 Re: Main Forum » Is there any mod around? » 2014-03-13 00:08:01

TheSquashedOrange just recently published a map about another player. How should we punish him?

#15 Re: Main Forum » It's just me or these is less people trying to rob houses? » 2014-03-11 19:14:47

I only had 1 person try to rob my house last night. I use to have 1-3 pages full. This makes it harder to start new when you die to your own traps. So it becomes and downward spiral. People will not restart if it takes longer to build now that the initial boost of players have dropped.

I like paintings. They are a good endgame, because otherwise there is nothing to spend your money on when you have fully upgraded your house. What painting did you buy? I just recently bought my first painting for my current house. I got "A Snail In The Sun", one of the best in my opinion.

You must be the one they call.... Mcneal!

Jason is there a way to order some fan art? I'm sure that your fans would love to order their favorite painting. I know I would! Please let us know.

As someone in Australia, GMT+10 it's usually pretty lonely, and early Monday morning seems to be the busiest time. It would be nice to know how many people are online and how many houses exist. It could be displayed in game, or I was thinking it would be cool to have a web page that shows this information, even cooler if it was displayed graphically, like a Sim City top down view, at night with different house icons for different values, lights on for people editing, dim lights (ie: a torch inside) for active robberies, lights off for idle, vacant lots for robbed houses, maybe even little people roaming the streets to show people browsing the house list. Basically something to give us a feel for what is going on without giving away information on specific houses.

It would be pretty easy to make a page like this if you could make the right sql query to the main server...

OMG that is a great idea! Jason please do this! It will help promote your game and give us a sense of community. Kudos to Monkey!!! A++++

I feel that there are less people trying to rob in general now that the player base is much more experienced.

I see Dennis Jeffrey Wilks $3000 1/0 is that you?

#22 Re: Main Forum » How to improve the game for new comers, #inspirationalspeach » 2014-03-10 00:29:09

I think adding an advance electronics video within the wiki or somewhere on the website could help keep new players from rage quitting the game. At least they could get an idea on how they died. I admit it is very frustrating to get electrocuted without knowing why. I almost quit the game after continuously dying from the unseen dog dance trick. Trying to guess what the hell the dog is doing behind the wall as I walk down the long corridor is very frustrating. If I see it I avoid it at all costs now. How the hell am I to correctly guess how many dances to perform as I walk along the wall at the risk of losing everything?

Being single has many advantages:
1) You can always go hang out at the local bar without having to worry about someone murdering your wife and kids.
2) You will never be nagged and nagged and nagged about leaving the front door unlocked.
3) You will never have to split half your money every time you come home.
4) You can go clubbing with the neighbors wife and her husband wont be able to return the favor.
5) You can play The Castle Doctrine all day/night without wife aggro.
6) No one will ask you what have you been doing all day when you come home.
7) Who needs a wife when you can buy pussy... I mean kitty cats at $8 a piece.
8) You wont have to share the bathroom.... wait... where is the bathroom???
9) Your electric bill wont kill you anymore. No one will be using all the lights on all day long, which means more money for left over for traps.
10) You wont have someone yelling at you to walk 30+ dogs every night.

#24 Re: Main Forum » Slow servers » 2014-03-08 11:00:12

I believe that most of the increase traffic may be from bots that are searching for 0/0 houses. I been tracking certain players that immediately try to rob your  house after you update date it and I have noticed a pattern.  I noticed this with James Henry Calvin on 3/1/2014. I used an empty house with a vault in a corner and he would scout it out as if he did not know where it was. I took a screen shot of his many attempts and steps taken. Anyone know how to post a  screen shot here?

#25 Re: Main Forum » Well done Joseph Alexis Johnson » 2014-03-08 10:34:34

That was a very good try. I could not believe how you died, lol. Some other guy broke in by luck, but I was able to repair the damage and fix the weak point. I'm still alive!
