dats pretty big these days.  i killed myself in self test yesterday and then purpled out of the entire list.  an hour later there was one white name, a 6100 0 0.  Wife was in view and unarmed with $3050 and vault was around the corner. no traps, no dogs.  yay.  i'm saving it in limbo before i start over.

5/5 Stars! Luna Park was an amazing and fun place to go to! Lots of animals to play with, and lots of cool bits and bobs to mess with as well. The best part, though, was the carnival games; I won the grand prize of 45,000 dollars!

you gonna build a house with that, blip?

Pohaku, everything is better now. Ronald john smith decided to give his vault away for free. I was the lucky one who got there in time an claimed 44k. I built my house and didn't die this time.

first, this house was not finished. this mapshot is from the last upgrade i completed successfully.  I was proving a $15k upgrade that would have worked fine if i hadn't screwed up a magic dance that I had already proven.  The upgrade, among other things, hid the fried dog in the south east from the dog needed from the LoF into the red herring vault chamber, making this route possible. i had also added many trap doors dependent on the same power running down the left corridor in the same section to help with brute forcing from the south west

couple things about the house:
entrance: you have to dance all the way to the south wall in order to open the power door after the trap door commit. it is possible to cut/fry every electric floor and ladder the commit and then just keep dancing near the bottom till you get the doors open.

the concept for this house was not conceived in its entirety from the outset, rather it started from 4500 as just the dance and commit combo which is fairly strong, but with no idea what i would add beyond.
i ended up trying to offer at least more than one attractive or conceivable vault location.  The vault location shown was not meant to be final but I hadn't gotten to around to that corner yet.  I had also decided the the bottom right of the house would remain red-herring.

anyway, comments and criticisms welcome, bearing in mind the house was incomplete so any real obvious stuff would have eventually been addressed, says I...

a couple traps relied on view shifts from having seen the south wall, namely the mini dance with the dog above the panic button and the trap door at the 50/50 in the south east. the first dog will not be seen without the view shift, and the second dog would be seen too late.

it's funny, because your entrance Really Does feel like an amusement attraction.  So many fun pets and toys to scatter all over with relative freedom truly is refreshing when compared to he 1-step commits of most houses without family.  I only have my main acct, but i watched a friend play with your cats yesterday, and while he didn't use any method or really even attempt to be productive or educate himself, it was still really entertaining.

very well done.
Sincerely,
Owner of a Boring Magic Dance Entrance...

one possibility is it's a santa who has no intention of robbing or surviving.  or it could easily be that it just isn't as obvious to them as it is to you that the trap will not function.  maybe they remember your house/trap when it WAS functional and they don't take the time to check to make sure you haven't changed anything.

@TigerbalmImmunity, glad you liked it.  I'm working on a new one now.  I don't know my name, but from the entrance, without moving, you can see window, window, window, pit, window, window, window, window, window, window, cat.  Current value, 5489 (likely to drop to about 2k)

Edit: 3700 at present.

Cylence are you tending to the Harmon House as well? it looks like Jensen's only upsidedownways

#16 Re: Main Forum » How is the way for Mr E. M. Roberts? » 2014-05-19 12:19:46

because it's my house, and because why not, and because yolo, and becasue Cylence told me I could if i wanted, here is a hint and why uncastlebar/ward thought south was red herring.

http://castledraft.com/editor/DiJpsv  this is what mr. ward was able to map out, with his understandable assumption corrected. you may have to refer to his original above to note the difference.

the empty dog corridor isn't actually empty obviously, and may or may not extend farther than depicted

pretty sure i have it sussed, after a good 15 mins of staring at it.  really nice.  those super long distance dog dance at the beginning and the super delayed dog dance at the end are my favorite bits.
"dog dance at the beginning": the dog in question in the bottom south west dog that is seen when traveling down along the west wall, and the dance controls the 5 electric floors + trap door at the northern wall.
"delayed dog dance at the end": the first dog seen when traveling south at the entrance activates permanent power to the trap doors on the vault path that were formally on a 1 bit clock.

i remember your entrance but i never took a look around, shame, really, you have good taste in home decor

yes but i still need to be able to get out. i don't have an alt account with which to dive in.

#20 Re: Main Forum » I've grown tired of this house, here's the map » 2014-05-16 19:12:46

i do seem to recall a house where a cat turns off some southern floors after a few steps and then turns em back on 11 steps later. don't seem to recall there being a dog + power door commit trap tho.

anyway i quite like those cat 50/50s that turn into races.  i have one or two of those currently smile

i realize there was a very high likelihood that it was safe for me to use my 2nd ladder on the furthest trap door i saw. but i got scared. i have not much real robbing exp.  i will come back when i get another 10k i don't want. or maybe 20k

If I get my value over 4k (2.7 right now but with a bunch of paintings) will you come visit me too? I long for intelligent robbers! I am Mr Pleasant.

My intelligence is nowhere near Cylence's level, however, i shall do my best to give you a fun tape or two. i am EM roberts.

15 saws later i am even more confused. my initial idea was incorrect, i feel safe in saying.  i have a new idea. it is not really testable without suicide scouts, though, i'm afraid.  so though i could brute it, i won't, and i can comfortably say: de fuh?  you da man, cullman
