Mr Mills is dead. And from walking directly into an activated electric floor, that I thought was an indicator light.
Here's the house.

I was in the process of installing an electric floor directly in front of the third trapdoor (where the vertical wire is currently located). For the purposes of testing, I replaced everything with indicator lights... except the electric floor in question. After completing a step-count test to confirm that I could viably add a floor there, I walked left and directly onto the (now activated) floor. Bye, Mills.

That was me. I also hit Scott and Buckley, so now I'm the top house by a pretty good margin (as of yesterday evening, at least).

Anyways, I really like the design. It's far more secure than the previous incarnation as well. I only robbed you based on a guess to follow the first wired wall that I saw that wasn't there in the older version.
Thanks for the paintings, and sorry to see you go.

#54 Re: Main Forum » Is this game still being developed? » 2014-05-04 11:16:01

Not really. Server settings might be changes to fix balance issues (like how bounty was lowered), and bugs will be fixed, but there won't be major features added, as Jason's already hard at work on his next game.

I was in edit mode, counting my paintings to get an exact number. My house should be up now. tongue
There also might just be a lot of people trying to rob me all at once, my house is only like 3:0 now for tries:kills.

It's more than 40 now. I just robbed Mitchell. big_smile

Edit: I just realized that, if I rob Buckley, that would make my total, if I counted right, 89. Which is 2 more than my previous record.
Or, of course, I could die in Buckley's place again.

Edit #2: I miscounted. I robbed Buckley and now have a total of 99 paintings.

As for legit robbery attempts, you'll get some at around the 5k mark, but I only look to bruteforce houses over 10k.

Actually, he moved the vault, and I found it with only one to spare.

I liked your place a lot. I had solved most of the entrance, and had plans to go further, but I was waiting until I had a house to store those paintings in. Then real life got in the way, and I guess I missed my chance. I'll have to rob Scott for the again; I think it's like the fourth time now. tongue

Ah. You're probably also the reason I was able to get Mitchell because your theory was correct:

From that comment, I think you've been moving your vault up to the top of your house sometimes just to trip me up.

I'm just sad that I didn't get to rob Mitchell with $2k. I think I could have later today once my chills wore off. I had nearly his whole place mapped, including areas to look out for when they changed.

Yes! I'm glad to return. Sorry my visits are so destructive. smile Actually, I think I just got lucky on my run today. I tried a few days ago and failed to rob like any of 20+ houses. I was commenting to myself that the houses seemed to have gotten much, much better.

House defense requires a huge time investment, but if you limit yourself to robbing it can be quite the coffee break game!

I may have caused some natural selection by robbing every house over $10k in which I didn't run into a magic dance or a combo lock. tongue

It's great to see you back, jere.

Back to the topic:

mala, now that you are robbed.. why was the cat so important that you wrote a thread about it?

The cat did the same thing yours did, I think. It activated at least one, maybe more door traps. I came up with a way past it, which I didn't get to use, that involved laddering down one tile when I saw the cat, so it would walk up and die in a pit.
Now I guess I'll have to rob Cutler... I have a pretty crazy design planned, that costs about $97k, which I'll set up afterwords (maybe).

#66 Re: Main Forum » Robert Nicholas Fredericks... » 2014-04-20 11:41:09

Well, I got pretty far in your place, and died on the dog-commit directly before your vault. Previously I had made an attempt at the bottom left corner as well, but also died. tongue

And I know how to get past the cat. I think I have about 1/5 chance of getting your vault on any given run about now...

i really hope i'm not missing something here...
i take the chance to reiterate the cop/disconnect issue, informations are all we have to protect what's ours (and that's the claim of the game) they can't be denied so easily.

Not saying you're doing it Blip, just saying that it can be done (i get 2-3 1step death per day), my brother is disconnect scouting an house, he is really close to the vault and the owner has no idea he's ever got past the initial trap... pretty unfair.

I currently don't have a main - I only have two robbery/scout accounts. My "main" will become whichever one gets your 100k. tongue
Also, I haven't been disconnect scouting - I'm just very clever and very experienced. I've only reached the cat once or twice, but from what I've scouted I know how to pass it.

MMaster wrote:

It's almost 2 months since he appeared in neighborhood and he was holding the 1st place 4 times. I'm not sure if I want to let him die. Blip did obliterate his place so he can't fix it easily. I would really like him to survive just to make Blip pissed smile

I wasted 23 crowbars to make sure that you would never recover. Just die already, please.

From that comment, I think you've been moving your vault up to the top of your house sometimes just to trip me up. And I know how to get past the cat, just got surprised by a house change this last attempt. I think I have about 1/5 chance of getting your vault on any given run about now...

#69 Re: Main Forum » someone saw the cat » 2014-04-19 17:20:25

I have the strangest worry right now, as my current plan is to rob mala and use the 100k or so to build my new house...
Because I'll probably actually solve his house (I feel like I'm sooooo close), it won't be hard for him to get more money from bounties in his still-funtional house and return with a vengeance.

#70 Re: Main Forum » To the visitors of Stephen Thomas Geyer [spoiler alert p3] » 2014-04-19 17:15:54

Gotcha!

As for Jensen, I'm saving that robbery for after I get Mitchell, which shouldn't be too long. Then I'll have a house where I can once again showcase the full Dermatillomanian set!

Yeah... I "liberated" his paintings and "donated" his tools to Cutler. May I request that somebody take Cutler down ASAP?

#73 Re: Main Forum » someone saw the cat » 2014-04-19 14:11:26

mala, did you break the previous correct path? Because I just died from trying the same solution...

Also, I just died like a dumb idiot in Cutler's place. Walking directly onto an activated electric floor was not a wise (nor intentional) choice, and Cutler now has about $20k more in tools. tongue It seems like my hijinks have become the TCD wildcard, giving random people gifts of lots of money, tools, or paintings.
