I don't think you're understanding what they're saying.  Many people, myself included, do lots of scouting runs between lives, keeping notes on all houses we hit.  What trap said was that, in a previous life, he scouted far enough to know where you safe is, and wrote a strategy down by your name.  Then, in the current life (but same account), he looked you up in the neighborhood, saw you *couldn't* have changed anything because of your visit/death count, and simply strolls through your house with the tools picked out from a previous scout.

No you guys are not understanding.  Brian Steven Naylor has been around for 2+ weeks.  My house was maybe 8 hours old.  How do you explain that?  There is precisely one answer.  Dual account cheating, there is no question.

Half-assed assumptions are a beautiful thing.

To be perfectly honest, I think this whole idea is kind of stupid. Only about 12 people actually go on the forums and most of them use dual accounts. That would leave like 4 people that would actually join. I don't want to play on a server with ~5 people for $20 when I could easily play on the main server which has a bigger player base for $16.

I just  said it would be free for anyone that has a forum account as of yesterday.  So you would pay nothing.  Man, you guys try to poke holes in any attempt to improve this game.

Even so, I would much rather prefer playing on the account I already have on a server with a bigger playerbase.
Also, 'improve' isn't exactly accurate. There is no reliable way to prevent dual accounts. Jason has said this himself. Another thing Jason has stated is that there is no way to stop dual account users without unintentional collateral damage. This whole system is half-assed and based purely on assumptions.

Yeah, I honestly hate houses that do that kind of thing. Puts too much stress on you and causes you to make hasty decisions
One of these days I'm just going to go into his house with ~5-6 guns and kill all of those dogs.

I swear, the idea of giving someone money (especially $150 FUCKING DOLLARS) is the most half-assed thing ever. Why would you make somoene else do it, when you can do it for free yourself and get the satisfaction of revenge. But, who am I kidding, this is the guy that complains about everything and doesn't really do much about it, so I guess this fits him.

You were thanking me a 2 posts ago for doing this.  Not sure if there are two people logging in under your name or what.  I am doing this as an experiment.

I was thanking you because of the person targetted, not because of the idea.

I must thank you for the publicity though, several suicide robbers have since attempted my home

By the way, the painting I had was part of the glitch set that you had two of. Just a heads-up.
Also, how much was my bounty?

I was mapping out his house in Castle Draft, but I died by accidentally tapping left twice. :I
Lost a 20k house and a painting.
I honestly hope someone gets this guy.

To be honest, this seems a bit excessive.
c1WI9WT.png
We have 48 vault slots and only need 25% of them.
I know it was because tools used to not stack, but now that they do we will only be able to use 12 vault slots at a time, so I think all of this extra space should be removed or changed in some way, unless there will be some use to it later on, like having to store paintings inside the vault and having a set limit on them that way, but other than that, all of this unused space is taking up space.

#86 Re: Main Forum » Idea: Tools in construction mode. » 2014-04-06 22:37:15

It would be pretty cool to be able to have free tools to test stuff like paradox circuits and to save yourself in a failed self-test, but if you were to get to your own vault using tools, instead of leaving the house to the neighborhood screen, it would take you back to editor mode as if you had exited through the front door, so that you would have to solve your house non-lethally to leave.

#90 Re: Main Forum » Wealth vs. Art: Which do you prefer? » 2014-04-03 19:19:44

Personally, I think that art is more satisfying to have than a wealth of money and tools. Mainly, because these things don't take much time to acquire (You could get $236k off of a bounty in the blink of an eye), so I'd think that getting a collection of art that you like is a good way to express yourself and also show off wealth. If someone goes into a house and sees like 20 paintings on the left they'd think that that person is more wealthy than someone with enough money to buy those paintings, in my opinion.

I got the game off of the website and not through steam. I tried to go to the website to get the new version for my launcher,  but there is no download tab I can click on to get a new launcher. So do I have to buy the whole game again or what?

EDIT: Solved, just looked in my browser history and I found the download page tongue

Oh, yeah he did. Mainly because I killed both his wife and got to his vault so he had nothing left to work with. Thanks for clearing that up.

So my friend recently got this game when I told him how much fun it was, and he wanted me to try out his house to see if I could beat it. I managed to successfully rob it, and then suicided later as I had used up my $2000 allowance on it, but instead of getting chills, it simply disappeared from the list. It really sucks because now we can't help each other find weaknesses in our houses. Anyone have any idea why this happened?

Precisely.

Yes indeed.  My vault currently has more money in it then I've managed (a whopping 14k) before dying to something as silly as the things in this thread.  part of me wants my house to be robbed so I can see where it is weak, but on the other hand that means my house was robbed and I'm broke.  This game...

Yeah, speaking of that, I actually tried robbing you earlier on a 2k dive and I honestly could not spot any weakness in your house.
Keep up the good work smile
