Would you care to help out with this project to attract new players?
I had been suspicious of that route for some time now, just stopped going in there cause i'd had a house running.
*Edit* removed some specifics as to the path I went.
I saw Geyer's old painting that you took up at the Auctions, someone nab it from you or did ya die?
Also, to the person who has traveled throughout the north section to enter the bottom section. You are the first person to do that.
Thanks! It was fun. I found the vault just as the sirens came so I tried to use as many tools as possible in 60 seconds (I've entered the vault 5 seconds before cops came)
It was definitely confusing house and from what I have mapped I would not be able to solve it without tools yet (creepy dogs all around the place). Thanks for the money and tools - I threw those away when I came to Mitchell's place and accidentally left without using single tool
I read about that. Its funny that they don't safe confirm when you press left to exit. (i've done it myself, but on 2k lives, where I found it out).
Yeah, the section where you walked up and opened a powered door to find a dog and a pit. That was a weakness I've wanted to clean up for a long time, and was about to. You slipped in the window right before I was gonna change it
.
I think you still could have gotten in, but you would have to consciously double back. The closed off path would forced you to make a wider circle. And it sounds like you were running out of time to do so.
Enjoy the paintings, I know I did.
It's been awhile since I've done any robbing. However I still like this house and it will eventually all get exposed, hopefully my method will provide great tapes along the way.
I'll poke in again- I want to see how much you had changed. I had just figured out (I think) how to explore more of your house, and I have a feeling the enitre area I deemed a red herring might not be one anymore
Well, just so you don't feel too bad, most of the paths you see are passable. But some were closed off. There are red herrings everywhere, it all depends on the vault location.
The improvements I wanted to make were brute force issues, which MMaster was able to use to get to the vault. I knew the problem was there but didn't want to update. He got in there just before I was about to update!
The 100 kill thing was a milestone, but the real reason, I wanted the change was from Pumarona getting deep enough (with some high budget visits) to warrant a change. Not necessarilly the pathing, but just the amount of tools needed if you don't figure stuff out.
Does anyone know a trap which involves a rotary switch? Cant seem to find one that uses it to its full potential.
I use it mainly for space constraints. However I had a few traps based on it and having a cat walk back and forth on it.
Here are a few threads discussing it.

p.s. welcome to the forums
I'd like to see this. I've wasted many a life in your house and have yet to get past the entrance. It will be cool to see how and have a chance.
Here's the beginning. More people have figured it out by now, but for those of you who haven't:
The solution here only requires the cat. You manipulate the cat by opening the wooden door from the right side, and running around so the cat doesn't go running off to the dog. Then you turn on the trap door for it (it turns it off when it runs away from you).
At this point you can step down onto the power source. Or step left. If you go left the dog will show up, if you go down, the dog wont. In either case, you just head for the trapdoor and it will be powered. You'll have to knowingly walk onto the electrified grate, trusting the cat to turn it off.
After that, when you cross the button, make sure you turn it to the on position then make another leap south. The cat will move up as you move down, thus powering the trapdoor.
Welcome to the rest of the house. I'll be back to add another 5x5 tile picture after the amount of deaths have been gathered.
Edit: Solution from the welcome mat -
R, U12, R, U, L, R, U, L, D2, R2, D, U, R4, D, U, D2
The planned renovations have taken place although the entrance is still the same.
I'll be doing something different this time. I won't be editing the place or moving the vault until it gets broken again. In addition, I'll post a picture here periodically.
For every 10 deaths, I'll post a 5x5 tiles section of the house. Either a picture or castle draft link (or both).
These pictures will be obscured in a way that shows a path you can walk (not necessarily the correct one), but will not reveal buttons configurations. The buttons may be revealed at a later time.
Please reply if you would like me to do this. If you want this to begin, I'll start by posting the entrance and it's solution, so you guys who haven't gotten past it, can see the next sections of the house.
I'm awaiting your response.
Edited: wording
If I rob houses under 2k with my 2k tools, I suicide at the vault. Instead of ruining someones house, I show them weaknesses and then give them abit of money to be able to patch it up. I don't spend 2000 dollars of tools to get 199 (that was what the second robber got) out of a house.
Even if we had a larger player base, I'm sure you'd still see people enjoying the game doing $2k runs on houses where they can actually get to the vault.
If the seed money you started on wasn't enough to build a $2k proof house. Maybe it would have been better to throw that money into chain robbing a higher target for more of a starting base.
i sympathize with your frustration. suiciding at your vault would have been the proper play especially as he's just going to go home and suicide there. I think some players have an extremely Fuck-you attitude toward any house that tries to kill them.
I think the proper play would be to not build a place that can be brute forced with $2k.
I imagine a neighborhood where every house shuns away 2k runners and gives those robbers a choice of either getting better or quitting. I also imagine a world where all houses under $4k would not get any visitors. It would be a place where everyone took time to learn and break the bigger vaults (or feed them) and then after breaking would create a medium house themselves to try to grow into a big house.
Congrats to David Michael Scott (MMaster). He was able to bruteforce the place before I could make the renovations today. I still have a nice chunk of change (thanks wifey for holding onto $26k), and will be fixing up the place. I'm debating whether I'm gonna open up the map and letting you guys solve it. Maybe I'll just post progress from those hitting up the place with no-tools. Not sure yet.

Please stay tuned and expect changes soon.I'd like to submit a complaint about the potential renovations. Your last "renovations" resulted in a much less appealing entryway. So unappealing, in fact, that I stopped visiting the gallery until recently. I'm afraid that your new renovations will result in a similar drop in quality- I was just learning how to get around, and would be seriously disappointed if I had to relearn the paths to such interesting exhibits such as "The Dog, The Cat, and the Apparent Binary Choice" in the central northern section of the Gallery.
Thank you for your consideration,
Iceman
The entrance change you are referring to was very early in construction and was initiated due to some vandalism by Kieth Anthony Weaver. The beautiful wood-grain framed "Dog through the Looking Glass" had to be removed. Here is was the earlier exhibition:
That entrance was renovated into the exhibit you are now very familiar with. This one is titled: "Fee (line) required, Kay (nine) optional."
The next section that you have visited is more than a binary choice. It's titled "3 Pits to Cat-i-cide"
The planned renovations are very minor, however I will hold off on the entrance change. I figure it was getting stale and out of fashion, but we'll leave it up for a little bit longer.
Congratulations to David James Hess. He has contributed the 100th donation since the completion of the Jensen Gallery. Even though this doesn't encompass all the donations that were contributed during construction, it is still an awesome milestone.
To celebrate, we will be moving forward with some new renovations that already have been planned.
Please stay tuned and expect changes soon.
And once again, thank you all for visiting.

Cylence wrote:He should be able to use that footage to create what we want for this song as well
I never said I'd do the video stuff. I do it for Clubbed to Death because it was my idea but I don't think I will have the time to do it for this song anytime soon. I'm sorry. Anyone else?
Ok, when you are done editing the clubbed to death idea, can you share the footage so someone else can have the vids to pull screenshots from?
Just a random comment. I'm actually located in Alabama... South of where all of this went down. I did not go to a single party in college where the Huntsville Bed Rapist song wasn't blasted at least once.
Shockingly good song.
Killer,
Yeah, it's super catchy. Hopefully it can attract players.
Stefan,
I've gotten down some footage for Gyuri to look at and process for the Clubbed to Death idea. He should be able to use that footage to create what we want for this song as well (minus any custom work for Antoine). How is the recording?
I have no idea how to record them, I would prefer the video files if it's possible for you to record the bits you want to use (also you know where to look for what). But if not, I will find a way.
I just sent you an email with the zip of recordedgame files.
Sorry, I was hoping I wouldn't have to do any of the recording or editing
. The longest one will probably be the build file. But you'll want to turn that into a montage by speeding up the scene as well.
The Tool Collection files, you might not have to record them as videos. Just grab a screenshot of the backpack tools, so that you can show it's growth.
Sounds great.
If you have the video files ready, you can post the dropbox links or something similar here. I'm not an expert in video editing, but I think I can do this, if nobody else does.
I didn't convert them to videos. They are just recorded games.
You'll have to play them back to record them.
There's actually a decent amount and I tried to separate them.
We can't do another shot since the Main Char is dead from the suicide. However, you should have enough footage.
I numbered it from 0-8 for the order.
There's two folders that had multiple recordings.
I recommend just turning everything into video, then cutting and pasting after with effects on how fast or slow to fit the timing correctly.
I'll send you a message so I can deliver the zip through email, Gyuri.
Well good to know. Glad I got a piece of it on what I would consider to be an easy vault location
After you understand how to go north (a lot of people haven't yet), there's 2 50/50 flips that you got right there. The first is the when you see the cat on the left, if you don't move straight up, he'll lock the door on you. The second is after the leap, whether you head north or east.
You are actually the only person who has gone in that direction since I've taken over the house.
That's why I moved it there. It had 70 kills before someone even checked that route. I knew someone was gonna go there, just a mater of when. I'm surprised it lasted so long.
We'll see how long this new location lasts.
So is this house still being babysat? I just robbed it for quite a bit and now it has been reset.
You were writing your reply at the same time I was. ![]()
Yeah, I'm just leaving the house up till all the vault locations have been found. Still got a few more left. This house should be up until all of them are found, or I make a mistake with a self test.
Edit: grammar
Congrats to Robert Thomas Morris. He found north west vault location, and got a cool $28k.
The vault has now moved again, and there is still a house value of 12k.
No real structural changes for those who have been visiting regularly, just a vault move.
I chose some guy with around 8 grand and a painting and started scouting him
Let me know if you enjoy the thieving life.
If you are doing suicide scouting, why not scout everyone in the neighborhood? You'll have downtime between visits to each house anyway and it'll up your chances and improve your skills faster. And once all your targets are chilled, you can play around in self test figuring out what you mapped out in other peoples houses. And maybe improve your own house design (saved in castle draft for later).
Good Luck Banakai ![]()
10 water, 6 saws, 1 drugged meat, 6 explosives, 2 ladders, 7 guns
That's all that's left, almost there. I should just make another account soon. ![]()
Yes i unfortunately did. I was doing a toolless scout run before going back to gear up. My finger slipped, double tapped through a commit door and died. The residence of Thomas David Gonzalez may be gone, but his spirit lives on!
Pumarona, seems like you were really busy robbing today. And you don't use safe confirmation move when robbing?
I did evaluate it at half price, and it was still alot more than the actual value of my house.
I don't like suicide scouting, because I only have 1 account and it will take my 5ever to scout out someone's house, and they will likely change it by then. I also think it is likely someone with 2 accounts robbed the second account to get money to rob my house.
Well, if a person to chooses to spend their wealth on wrecking you, there's not much you can do about it besides make them spend more than they wanted to with your design.
You'd be surprised at the amount of houses that don't change when you scout. And you don't need 2 accounts to suicide scout. If you had a larger starting capital, you could make it harder for the same robber to break your house. But you can only do that if you put time and effort into robbing. Have you tried it at all? You may find it rewarding in terms of discovery and knowledge. Plus you don't have to worry about losing a house until you make that big score.
If you are afraid of scouting houses that may change, don't forget there are also broken houses out there that won't change, which still gather money for those who have taken the time to map it out. You can have these mapped out during your suicide lives before you start on a house. It will provide an alternate source of income if you can notice the increases in value.
If you really must build a house on the starting $2k and don't want to go robbing at all, then I would suggest a dog wife shotgun pincer trap and a vigilant watch. They can net some decent bounties but are easily cracked with a gun when discovered. So you have to be there when your house value jumps.
Well I asked for it!
Cullman did a good scouting job - though it cost him - but then earlier today Gonzalez took my vault. It took him three trips, and he used a total of $27,000 in tools (retail price) to get there, but he nailed it for $13,000. Poor investment really, but after his first trip it became worth it to invest a little more and come back. I enjoyed watching him get there. I've since reinforced a couple of the weak points that he exploited along the way, and changed a combo or two...
The real pisser was that I was at work when I saw the robbery, but had no time to repair - I had to log out without redoing self-test, which somehow re-split my remaining money between wife and vault, allowing some pissant naked scout to come in, walk through Gonzalez's path of destruction, and take over $4k from me! Grrr...
Nakula - the damage is fixed, but if you wanna take a look I am Ernst. It's not worth any investment at the moment though, I am down to less than $5,000 and that is between my wife and vault.
Pumaroma is Gonzalez, or was rather. Gonzalez also paid 2 visits to the Jensen gallery with a total of 8 ladders (and a bunch of other tools). I was looking forward to him visiting again, but it appears his paintings have been sent back to the auction. You may have outlived him.

Hi Banakai,
Don't forget to valuate the cost of the tools at half the value. He could have been using harvested tools which he has collected from robbers. At that point he might break even.
And really, saws, meat and water are harvested so easily that they aren't worth as much, and it would be worth the entertainment.
I really suggest that when you start a fresh life, that you use it to suicide scout and eventually rob a house which will give you enough money to build a stronger house with at least $3-4k leftover (to entice other robbers).
There are a couple guides in my signature, and I highly recommend that you go through the robbery one first. ![]()
Yes I am indeed Thomas David Gonzalez. I will be coming back to view other exhibits, after my next payday. The admission fee to the Jensen Gallery is a bit over priced.
![]()
Yes, expensive, but overpriced? Where else can you feast your eyes upon the Dermatillomanian and Geovisage sets?
I have noticed your art has found it's way back to the market. Have you made a bounty donation elsewhere?
