#1 Re: Main Forum » [Bug?] v32 list starts you at houses worth $0? » 2014-02-14 19:46:16

Great! Thanks Jason, I think this is a good idea now that it incorporates backpack value! smile

#2 Re: Main Forum » [Bug?] v32 list starts you at houses worth $0? » 2014-02-14 13:49:54

Agreed MMaster. If anything it should take into account your backpack or just revert back to what it was before. I like the idea of this for new players but it takes forever to find a house worth robbing now.

The idea of a button to jump to top would be good if this format stays.

Just downloaded the newest version and it seems the server starts you at houses wort $0 instead of the highest ranked houses?

Always been curios if Jason ever mentioned the "% to quit" as having a reasoning? Not that it needs to but it is such a unique way to exit a game.

#5 Re: Main Forum » [Suggestion] Tool idea to be immune to sight through windows? » 2014-02-13 12:49:50

Windows are just too powerful right now and something needs to be able to disable them. (not just break them)

SOUNDS GOOD!

I definitely see the ability to cover a window as something that needs to be implemented though.

#8 Re: Main Forum » Own House Timeout possibly extended? » 2014-02-13 10:53:04

Ok. I guess I could be more clear.  I know you dont die, but this is mainly a problem when I start out new and then try and make my first robbery to build a suitable house. So when successful I return to my house to build and THEN if I timeout it reverts to a "new" house slate and all my tools/money are free for the taking.

I guess overall I think the timeout should just be lengthened because there is no shortage of houses and its frustrating when you finally make a score only to lose it all because you get a phone call for a couple minutes....

Maybe I am in the minority here but I like to basically have this game open all day. I play a bit when I have slow times at work as well as at home. I have died numerous times in the past couple weeks by the timeout while editing my own house, and most of the time I also have $10,000+. See once I get that much I really like to think about how to make my house well built, it takes me time and sometimes I get busy doing something else.

I know there is a time limit to prevent camping with LOTS of money but maybe we could extend the time for editing your own house by atleast another 5 minutes?? or even 10? With the influx of new players since Steam release there is definitely NO shortage of houses available and I cant tell you how frustrating it is to timeout of your own house with over $10,000 and it ends up just being left in a blank slate house for someone to get.

#10 Re: Main Forum » low level house management » 2014-02-12 14:52:16

All objects work that way. Unless it was broken or something. (i.e. Broken wall has to be repayed for)

#11 Re: Main Forum » Shitty robbery skils . What to do ? » 2014-02-12 13:59:48

Spend the first 5 minutes scouting houses with no tools. You have a 5 minute window where your house doesn't show up on the server. Find a house that seems like you might be able to rob it and then go get your $2000 in tools and try the house. You can then either spend the money you steal on a house or chain-rob and buy more tools and go for a bigger house. This doesn't obviously work everytime but over the course of a day or two you will get a big score and be able to build a sweet house. You will probably end up getting robbed pretty quickly but that is the game's play cycle.

#12 Re: Main Forum » Is 24 hours freeze too long? » 2014-02-12 13:31:05

I basically do the first option each day until I get a $5000 house and then chain rob to try and get a +$20,000 house and then build a sweet house....only to be chain robbed myself the very same night (most of the time). This game has a vicious cycle that I don't see any way of really changing.

#13 Re: Main Forum » Is 24 hours freeze too long? » 2014-02-12 13:27:18

Yea, I feel you. The only two options I see right now in the game are:

You scout houses with no tools when you first start out (you have a 5 minute buffer before your $2000 house appears on the server). You can then find a house that looks good and still be able to re-enter it in your same life with your $2000 in tools.

OR

You spend the $2000 on building and wait FOREVER for people to enter your house because its in the >$500 list.

#14 Re: Main Forum » Is 24 hours freeze too long? » 2014-02-12 13:19:09

Yeah, I dunno. This is a hard topic that I have gone back and forth on. I think the Chills at 24 hours is good and even with them getting a house to last on the top couple pages for more than a day is near impossible.

it feels kinda stupid

You CAN move the pitbull without repaying. Just make sure you have the pitbull selected in the tools first then click on the pitbull and move it. It is free.

#16 Re: Main Forum » Robbing problem :D » 2014-02-12 11:25:55

Although I do think bringing back Tool-drop in successfull vault reach would definitely help curb Brute-forcing w/o removing Brute-forcing??

I think it could be a good idea to have a tool that makes a tile vision blocking, although don't think a new tool should be introduced just for that purpose.

Maybe the brick could just "crack" the window making it un-see-thru-able? (what a word!)

I know that this is a crazy idea, and kind of breaks reality but being seen through a window is definitely one of the most widespread new uses for pet movement but there is no way to counter it. Playing this game last year I saw nearly NO windows at all, but now that pets have to see you first, the inclusion of windows in houses is through the roof.(pun intended) Imagine if you could walk past a set of windows w/o being seen? That would HUGELY help to curb people from building nothing but traps using this tactic.

I know a "Cloak of Invisibility" is too fantasy, but maybe something like "Cardboard" you can put up over a window? You could maybe also use Cardboard as a one-way ladder too?(It would fall into pit after walking over) That might be too powerful but the window idea I think would be cool? Thoughts friends?

#19 Re: Main Forum » How to survive on top? » 2014-02-12 09:48:20

I agree with you on this but it is just the way that the game has evolved over the last year. Early on in game development you COULD NOT stack tools. You could ONLY carry 8 tools, which made brute forcing IMPOSSIBLE. But it also lead to EVERY house having 9-think walls. Stackable tools were implemented for this reason.

At this point spending 2000 on tools and then chain robbing until you get enough to Brute Force a high value house seems the best way to play. That being said, I just had a house in the top 3 pages yesterday by finally robbing a house worth $55,000 and then only to be brute-forced myself later in the evening. There is a problem with the current state of the game as well as all the influx of new players being polarized but we'll see. The game has constantly evolved over the last year and its at a pretty good, well rounded state right now.

nobody knows the official time? It seems to be pretty low, like 5 minutes?

I know that the timeout for editing your own house was changed during the tourney but I am just curious if anyone knows what it is now?

#23 Re: Main Forum » The price of cracking a combo vault » 2014-02-07 08:57:53

I have never used one and will never. And although people can do what they want and I support their choice I will not be using them. They are a complete bore to me, BUT they are a good way to make ALOT of money and this is why people use them. They basically require brute-forcing or EXTREME luck.

Yes. I am curios as well and just double checking that I didn't miss an email about when payouts will be sent?

No rush I just want to make sure I didnt miss any announcements?
