A weak enemy. High house on low money. He don't trust his architecture ability enough to go above 2k. Sad. Very Sad. neutral

Because I didn't have the tools to do so, now that it was broken.

Also, Iceman, you would make a great reporter.

explosive, brick and some saws would be enough ;P and waters if you want a safepath back big_smile

That would be the first scout information without getting in danger.

None would touch you for that amount of money. 2k robber can be really lucky and could scout the rest of your house, the only thing that would hold them off would only the last defense trap.

Corner-traps are costefficient, but your other traps take way to much space. Instead of using the money for a commit gate that early. You should use that pit for a better trap and add this later. Commits are mostly good to scare robbers who want to survive. In your last defense trap, there could be more buttons(not sticky, more guess), and put your final entrance more in the middle of the guess(For a lategame disadvantage(Electricwall weakness).

Otherwise, your wifedefense could be better in the future, otherwise there will be a bad space use to need of pistole/club ratio. Why not put the magic dance earlier, to hold of possible scouting? The first cat "trap" seems useless, will there be a future trap near the vault? Beware of robbers who try to saw to your vault. It is better to hold your electronics small as possible and cut them off of each trapsection.

Think of a 3 step goal

1. Scare robbers off until you get enough money to advance to step 2
2. Be 2k safe
3. Be serious robber safe

Alton James Malone, a tophouse in broken state has been taken down. There is a suspicion, that a friend made it unsolvable or a dual account. Necessary Cats were dead to get any further into this, placed with otherwise weak commitgates, house. An Anonymous Message from the robber said, that he felt the urge to take down this unhonorable house, at all costs.

Welcome to the Forum, actually that was me. Were you one of the tophouses? That one with two combolocks? Some of your money was well spend in my house, then the other half+ tools got wasted on not anymore #1 Travis Eric Black. Still got his wife and broke down some serious defense with his kids. But I have no money anymore to get further. It shouldn't be possible anymore to solve it without at least a crowbar and 3 dog meats =/

Someone should take him down and get the money before he waste it on a revenge neutral

Houseowner should get priority if they come into  their house, so they will be next in the their house.

#33 Re: Main Forum » RULES FOR NEW HOUSE OWNERS » 2014-04-13 07:09:35

DO NOT use all 2K of your cash to rob one person.
Though this might seem like a good idea to rob a
very rich house in the 2K+ houses remember those
houses are there most likely knowing they can withstand
                 a 2K rusher.

Fuck this rule, DO IT. Get money into the game neutral

One suicide robber figured out my first trap. In his next run he will come to my second trap. *clap*

i'm dreaming about a mobile version of tcd since the first time i had to leave my house unprotected for extended periods.

i'd love to check my house while onthe bus, or make a little upgrade on the way

I hate and I like that feature that I can't check my house everytime. And that feel if you come home and your house still stands with 8k and nonbroken fills me with proud big_smile

Great post! One little tip for mapping on castledraft is to snap it to a side of the screen (If you're using Windows), and have Castledraft on the other side.  It saves you a lot of time going back and forth between the two.

1 suggestion:
1. To me, when suicide scouting there's 2 options to what you want to do: "solution scouting", where you figure out the no-tools or cheaper solution to getting past a trap, and "map scouting", where you just brute force past everything to see as much down the map as you can.  I prefer scouting solutions when suicide scouting, since it will let me go further with the same tools the next robbery.  The catch is that, if the owner is paying attention, they can switch the solution on you, making that life almost useless.  Paying attention to visit numbers is very important to catch that.

depends on the kind of trap. Some magic dances are difficult to figure out, like if there is only a pit.

#39 Re: Main Forum » Fortress Theory Mod - Version 3 » 2014-04-09 09:51:10

How about retired houses with some changes that make them impossible to solve?

#40 Re: Main Forum » Question? » 2014-04-09 09:49:10

To sum up and stop these possible going to be nonsense flame between some users here:

Yeah you can get bounty at 0$ vaults, but only 1 time in a hour.
You can only rob 0$ vaults if the owner reset his house again, otherwise it will be shown as broken until wife is dead.

If the wife survives and the vault is broken, the house will still show up in the list.
If the owner resets the vault and the wife is dead, the house will show up in the list.
If vault and wife is broken/dead, the house will NOT show up on the list.

Hope that helps

And please guys, be constructive and get your dual accounts discussion whatever in the threads we have. I like to see better answers than only dual account. As example I am here in the forum to see new traps, fallen houses or participate on a collective robbery. Or just discuss some topics in ONE thread, not all. Thank you.

Edit: correct the mistake with 3 times

Not the best house, but that first magic dance is still viable(change the buttons) and hold off every robber until i just gave up the house to built a much better one.

What is the point of the trap doors in the magic dance?

Every trapdoor with no use, is just to let the robber feel unconfortable and afraid to water power or step on a trigger. I put them only in if I have enough sparemoney

it's full of minitraps, and most of  them are a mess.

while playing you'll learn that a good house does not need 1000 traps to reach the top.
If well planned nobody will get past the first one without bruteforce.

My actual house is based on this simple model:

1: noobish entrance to lure robbers
2: Deadly trap
3: everything else is bruteforce prevention

The north at the entrance would be a weakpoint here(With knowledge or taking risk of the robber)

It's full of weak spots, rearranged traps, and misplaced stuff big_smile
I made it after 2 week in the game, i had no experience with serious robberies (just 2k suicide run, that never got past the first magic dance), and that's why is so inefficient against a tooled robber.

Show me the entrance of your actual house and maybe i will try it and see if you are better now ;P

Not good. People will keep their value below 10K so that it will be nearly impossible to brute force.

Got another real cash bounty? wink

Ok so help me understand what non-cheating reason someone would to bring say $21,000 of tools (retail) into a $10,000 house?

To take down a possible danger. And you set up a new restriction to learn, noone can just do 2k-suicide runs to scout out new traps(Metagame). And how to deal with it. Or just learn how tools interact with with fields(New Player). And... vengeance. And you ever wanted this god damn picture, but he don't die and you could just buy it out of the auction.

I rarely run into situations where I wish I had wires in wife path.  What might be better is to have an inverted panic button.  That actually would increase family ability to interact and solve the situation where you want to send power across without blocking them.

inverted buttons for everything big_smile Like the toggle switch, triggered switches in different layouts, and a sticky interrupt button.
